WORLD CUP 2011 ANTHEM – JEET KA JUNOON

An idea.. Conceived… Endeavored… And now

delivered…

The Crew

The song started of from the brain-cells of AK Deepesh (Kochi) who came up with the thought of making a song to cheer the Indian Cricket Team for this World Cup. The very thought was vibrant and struck a chord with every one on our team.

We embarked on this project a month back when Sajeev Sarathie (New Delhi) penned some fantastic lines off his mind. Sajeev speaking for this song was a masterstroke for us since Sajeev, a being cricket enthusiast himself was obviously thrilled at the thought and did not just stop with passionate writing but also went out of his way to help us throughout the song.

Once the lyrics and the melody were in place, we started off with the groove design with Manoj (California) at the helm. Needless to say, the amazing drummer that he is, he nailed it! With the basic framework now in place, we started off on arrangements & programming and from there on it was a process of evolution set in motion.

This was also the first time we got the chance to work with Kuhoo Gupta (Pune) (thanks to Sajeev Bhaiya). Have always been a great fan of her singing and working with her was better than we had ever imagined. Versatility, speed and a thorough professional attitude describes her the best (not to mention ‘amazingly cheery’ all the time). She finished off her portions in no time and proved to be such a value add to our team!

Tara Balakrishnan (Houston) who has almost always been an integral part of my projects raised the song by several notches with her highly expressive singing. Gifted with a magical voice and oodles of attitude,Β  she most certainly turned the song around in the last minute with her portions.

With Anup Menon (Paris) – The Guitarist on the team, there could obviously be no dearth of energy. He played an active part in the song offering suggestions and improvisations most of which when incorporated improve the song.

I didn’t have to go far in searching for the male lead, Deepesh being an amazing singer himself. Apart from singing the lead, Deepesh stayed up while making the song right from Day 1 and this song is as much his baby as mine.

Two people who stood by us no matter what deserve a special mention. Baba Vijay and Vinod Venugopal are not only the ones behind the video for the song and the teaser but also the right catalyst charging us up when the chips were down!

Balamurali Balu is another friend we would like to thank for his guidance throughout.

Last but not the least, we thank all our friends (active and passive) who have motivated us, kept us on our toes, criticized for improvements and helped us through out the promotions from the day the teaser was out!

Jeet Ka Junoon required quite some junoon of our own too since we did have a lot of hurdles jump across (what with lack ofΒ  proper funding to execute a project so ambitious, etc) but it finally proved to be worth all our efforts.

We sure had a blast working together and hope you will too, when you listen!

Male Barutide – Original Composition

Male Barutide – Original Composition by Eshwar

RAIN! The very word is enough to inspire creation. As far as I know rain, creativity, romance, etc are all synonymous and somewhat in sync with each other.

When I first stumbled across this amazing melody penned by friend Sashi, I just couldn’t help falling in love with it. So much did it hit me that I just had to work on this song four nights at a stretch. But then, who cares!? All that matters is now that it exists πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The lead voice has been lent for this song by my dear friend George. I daresay that he has brilliantly underplayed his considerable potential to suit the song (which is not something a less than super-awesome singer could do by the way).

The harmonies and female portions in the finale have been sung by Tara – another mindblowingly talented singer.

We had one hell of a time working on this together as we always do πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

PS: Haven’t mixed it properly.. especially towards the end. πŸ˜›

Queen of the Damned – The Perfect Violin Solo – Instrumental Cover by me :-)

First of all I’d like to thank my good friend Hari for introducing me to this violin piece and suggesting that I give it a shot. I fell in love with the movie as well because of my obvious love for folklore – Gothic in this case.

The scene is thus –

One vampire Maurius takes his son (the one created by him) Lestat through the ways of Vampires on a beach one late evening.
They spot a gypsy girl and her father sitting around a fire with musical instruments. As they watch, the girl starts playing on her violin. In spite of Maurius’ misgivings, Lestat joins her as he picks up a violin and starts playing. Suddenly he goes berserk and starts playing like a maniac. The gypsies identify him as a vampire from the mad gleam in his eyes as he plays and run for their lives.

This piece goes an octave higher than normal. This I guess is available only on the violin.

Now I’ve tried to cover this piece. Since there was just a little beat and base around the violin, I programmed them myself.

In case you wanna check out the original, it’s available on youtube. Just look for β€œthe perfect violin solo”

Panithuli Urugiye – Original Composition

Panithuli Urugiye by Eshwar

This is my first fully fledged original composition to be released. This song has been composed for a music video which will be shot on the various manifestations of water. Took me about nearly a week to nail!

My sincere thanks to Aisoo – The lyricist who wrote the song in 30 minutes sitting right before our eyes, Saravanan – The amazing flautist, Srividya – Lead singer who really cooperated with me during the project, Meera – The fabulous singer who rose to our need (time-crunch) really fast and did her portions in lightning speed & Deepesh – The male lead, who apart from his superb performance also stayed up with me a lot while composing and mixing.

Thanks a lot guys. All of you were awesome and I sure had a blast working on this one with all of you!

This song will forever be close to my heart for the very simple fact that it is my first one to be released…

Kuru Kuru – Couples Retreat – Covered by Deepesh & Myself

A lovely Tamil song in a Hollywood movie scored by A.R.Rahman. A very simple one too. No usual fancy arrangement, exuberant panning etc from the maestro. Irresistibly sung too…

Once again upon a time, Deepesh & I were bored as hell. And when we are bored we are also normally lazy (I know… this is one of the worst ever self-contradictory combo packages). Anyways, we played around with a few songs and decided to cover this one.

This was a couple of hours job, the track being a fairly simple one for me to program. Do take a listen when you get time. πŸ™‚

Jana Gana Mana – Yuva – Covered by Deepesh & Myself! :)

I am sure you would’ve heard this mind-blowing composition by ARR. My friend Deepesh and I were jamming at my place and we decided to take a break. Browsing through my song library Deepesh murmured something like “A pity there is no karaoke for this song on the internet…” and LO! That was just the charge I needed. πŸ˜›

We worked for almost four solid hours to create the skeleton of the song and sing on it. And then I sat all night and incorporated the other sounds into the track (also got carried away and pulled off a couple of extra stunts ;-)).Β  Anyways, here is what we came up with.

PS: The whistling is terribly out of sync… was too groggy to notice… πŸ˜›

Tea Jingle

This is a TV Ad jingle scored by me for a tea brand. I was given a visual and a day’s time to finish scoring for the same. The crew was very pleasant and appreciative of my work. Loved working with them. The whole track was programmed at my little home studio.

Do take a listen and let me know what you think… πŸ™‚
